ANNOUNCING FUTURES IN BLINDNESS 2008
Once again our Blind Corps team heads for a training mission with the blind of the Republic of Turkey. We will be sharing our experience and teaching techniques with Turkish teachers, consultants, and officials so they may be extended and passed on to the blind throughout Turkey. We anticipate our Blind Corps team of nine rehabilitation professionals will be working with a class of 45 who work with the blind at different levels, including representatives of 15 schools for the blind from across turkey.
Futures In Blindness 2007
Futures In Blindness 2007 was a most successful and rewarding experience for our Blind Corps team, last October. We graduated some 32 students with certificates, and nearly that many more participated for part-time and spot training sessions as well. If last year’s record is any indicator, we can predict interest to be even higher this year.
Futures In Blindness 2008
We have ongoing commitments from our Turkish partnering sponsors to provide air transportation from the States to Istanbul, as well as ground transportation, lodging and meals. In addition, they will provide advance coordination, registration, and interpreter services.
The Futures in Blindness Team 2008 will offer their expertise, time and energy for what promises to be a dramatic, powerful, and intensive training encounter for its participating trainees. Team Members contribute their own time away from jobs and families to be involved in our Blind Corps mission,.
Blind Corps depends on YOUR DONATIONS to accomplish our mission. With your assistance we provide training materials such as White Canes for independent travel training, Braille materials for fundamental communications skills training, and Independent Living Skills materials for general adaptive techniques in other alternative skills of blindness.
